Save a
Child's Heart Project
Save
A Child's Heart came into being in 1995. Dr. Cohen was contacted by
an Ethiopian doctor who had been referred to him by Dr. Belay
Abegaz, a mutual friend at the University of Massachusetts. He
requested urgent assitance for two children in desperate need of
heart surgery. From this meager beginning Save a Child's Heart
medical team of doctors, nurses and paramedics have operated on many
hundreds of children with an astounding success rate of 96%. This
has been achieved with little or no publicity, public relations and
even less money. All of these boys and girls, regardless of race,
creed, color, sex or religion have received the finest medical care,
which is at the cutting edge of technology, that Save A Child's
Heart and the Wolfson Medical Center can provide.
