Toronto

The Toronto Young Leadership Board was formed in 2008 by a group of 10 young professionals determined to raise both funds and awareness for Save a Child’s Heart. The Leadership Board is committed to the idea of Tikkun Olam, repairing the world by helping those in need. The mission of the Board is to focus on engaging young adults in the Toronto community through informative and social events in order to promote awareness and encourage philanthropy amongst their generation.

The Board holds many fundraisers – big and small – throughout the year. These events bring together a growing number of young professionals in the community who are interested in making a difference. Two of our main events include Bowl Your Heart Out (7th annual was held in April of 2015) Straight to the Heart Casino Night (2nd annual to be held in October of 2015). With the support of other university students and young adults, the Board successfully raised over $100,000 in 2014.

Although our leadership board is based in Toronto, Young Professionals across the country have dedicated their time and energy to SACH and have put together a number of remarkable events and fundraisers. If you are interested in organizing an event in your community or on campus please contact our Toronto office to get involved. We are always looking for more young professionals to help make a difference!

New York

The New York City Young Professionals Committee (SACH-NYC YPC) was founded in early 2009 as a way for young professionals based in New York City to raise awareness about Save a Child’s Heart throughout the City and to play a role in the fund-raising efforts of the organization to help save children’s lives.

Organized by 4 enthusiastic young professionals, the committee succeeded in putting together an on-line fund-raising platform and launched an Inaugural $10,000 campaign to save their first child in just a few short months. The committee continues to grow, celebrating reaching a goal of $10,000 and saving their first child in the spring of 2010.

We work hard to increase awareness in New York of the efforts of Save a Child’s Heart through events, partnerships with local college campus groups, collaborations with other Jewish, medical, and humanitarian organizations, and travel back and forth to Israel connecting the NYC community with the children in Israel.
